Attorney Sarah Dragotta founded the Glenside, Pennsylvania, firm, the Law Office of Sarah B. Dragotta, out of her love of education and her passion for the law. She believes that every child should have the right to a great education in the best setting possible. Passionate advocacy of students, their families, and the institutions that serve children with special needs has been a theme throughout Ms. Dragotta's twenty years as an educator and, more recently, as an education lawyer. Ms. Dragotta is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She was recently admitted to the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, pro hac vice, specially admitted for cases involving a handicapped student and his family. Attorney Dragotta received a Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from Pennsylvania State University in 1976 and a Master of Education from Lehigh University in 1980. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law in 2001 and became a member of the bar in 2002. That same year, she assisted her colleague in a medical malpractice trial in which a Philadelphia County jury handed down a million dollar plus jury verdict for the estate of a man who died from undiagnosed colon cancer.
Ms. Dragotta's practice can be summed up in one word—advocacy. Her passion for justice in education is born of her experiences: losing a brother to wrongful death, raising three children, seeing the struggles of children with disabilities and health impairments, and the many obstacles their families must overcome for their education. She helps clients find closure as she listens to their stories. As a lawyer and a personal advocate, she provides her clients with sensitive and committed representation that results in reasonable solutions to what are overwhelmingly discouraging problems.
